Uma Ramakrishnan is an established vocalist. She has performed all over India, Europe and the Caribbean. Known for her unique voice and style she maintains traditional Carnatic music with finesse. Uma had been performing Carnatic concerts for the past 25 years. With a vast repertoire she is also an ideal guru who has trained more than 300 students worldwide. Uma is the founder and director for Amrithavarshini Belgium, an organisation that conducts Carnatic vocal Veena and mridangam classes in Brussels, Belgium. Uma is also a faculty at Muziekpublique, in Brussels. Uma is trained in konnakol (South Indian rhythm)  She is also trained to play Saraswathi Veena.
